Meditech 2026's Technology Radar: The Innovations That Will Shape Medicine in Colombia Over the Next Decade
Bogotá, July 2026. The gap between experimental developments and daily clinical practice is rapidly closing. Driven by the need to treat more complex conditions and reduce pressure on the healthcare system, the Latin American medical market is adopting technologies that, five years ago, were considered long-term projects. In fact, between 2010 and 2023, investment in healthcare technology and innovation in the region exceeded USD 3.3 billion, with telehealth, AI-supported diagnostics, and remote patient monitoring as the areas attracting the most capital today, according to a Servicios al usuario Report by HolonIQ and BID Lab. Consequently, the solutions driving these figures will be on display at the ninth edition of Meditech, taking place July 28–31 at Corferias.
“Meditech is no longer just a place to update a clinic’s inventory. It is the leading technology transfer platform in the Andean region—the place where the medical community comes to see, touch, and negotiate the innovations that will become standard in high-level hospitals in the coming years,” said Ana Garibello, Meditech Project Manager at Corferias.
During the four-day fair, the trade show will bring together three technological areas that are currently the focus of investment in the sector.
Clinical artificial intelligence. AI has evolved from being an administrative tool to being directly integrated into the diagnostic process. The platforms to be showcased at Meditech analyze medical images to detect patterns that accelerate the early identification of critical pathologies, supporting physicians in highly complex decision-making.
Meditech’s HealthTech Startup Park will bring together startups dedicated exclusively to these solutions, while a specialized symposium will address AI governance in healthcare: how to regulate it, what ethical standards should be applied, and how to ensure that its adoption benefits all patients equally.
Highly Complex Telemedicine. Teleconsultation has evolved into advanced remote monitoring ecosystems: wearable biosensors that transmit cardiovascular and metabolic data in real time to monitoring platforms, allowing chronic diseases to be managed in the patient’s home with the same rigor as in an ICU.
Regenerative medicine. Advances in 3D tissue bioprinting and the use of stem cells for bone and joint regeneration are bringing Latin American specialists closer to therapeutic options that reduce recovery times and improve clinical outcomes for complex injuries.
During the fair, the CEATH Star Award will recognize the technologies on display that stand out the most for their innovation, sustainability, and quality—a mechanism that guides hospital executives on which solutions are making a difference in the sector.
